Juliet Schwarz, M.S. (She/her), is a doctoral student in Ferkauf’s Combined School-Clinical Child Psychology PsyD program. She received her B.A. in psychology and elementary education from Middlebury College and has training experience in settings including a public K-12 school, community-based clinic, and outpatient program specializing in anxiety treatment for youth. Juliet is currently on internship where she is providing assessment and treatment services to children with developmental disabilities, as well as typically developing children. Her research interests focus on the identification, assessment, and treatment of anxiety disorders in school settings across the lifespan, from K-12 through graduate school.

Arielle Misrok, M.A. (she/her), is a doctoral student in Ferkauf’s Combined School-Clinical Child Psychology PsyD program. She received her B.A. in psychology from Dickinson College where she minored in educational studies, and her M.A. in psychology from Ferkauf. Arielle has training experience working with individuals across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including public K-12 schools, outpatient behavioral programs, and hospital-based mental health clinics, and day programs, including a clinic dedicated to the treatment of individuals with eating disorders. She currently provides short-term individual and group psychotherapy to young adults presenting with a wide range of psychopathology in a specialized inpatient unit at Long Island Jewish Medical Center - Zucker Hillside Hospital (Northwell Health). Her current research interests include gender differences in presentation of ADHD and the factors contributing to the misdiagnosis and identification of ADHD in female students.
Zainub Mallick, B.S. (She/her), is a doctoral student in Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology’s School-Clinical Child Psychology program. She received her B.S. in Psychology from University of Houston and has training experience in a community based clinic specializing in learning disabilities and a public elementary school. She currently is an extern at GABI in Harlem, NY where she works with mothers and their young children to improve their attachment and break generational curses. Next year, she will be externing at Jacobi Hospital. Her current research project involves investigating the mental health of South Asian American youth.

Rebeka Dinnall-Fuentes, M.A.(She/her), is a doctoral student in Ferkauf’s Graduate School of Psychology’s School-Clinical Child Psychology program. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Pace University and her M.A in Clinical Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Rebeka has previous experience working on projects focused on bringing awareness to the importance of culture and identity and their influence on the consumer in a therapeutic alliance. Rebeka has recently gained experience administering cognitive assessments and providing individual and group counseling to Latinx youth at Union City High School/Jose Marti STEM Academy in Union City, New Jersey. Currently, Rebeka is gaining experience in providing therapy and administering assessments to children, adolescents, and young adults ranging from ages 7 to 21 who have experienced chronic school or academic difficulties due to a disorder, which is often accompanied by comorbid emotional and behavioral disorders. Rebeka’s current research interests include investigating mental health supports in schools for Latinx youth. She is also interested in the identification and treatment of ADHD, depression, and anxiety in racial/ethnic minority adolescents. As a Latina, Rebeka’s passion lies in improving prevention, access, and quality of mental health treatment for marginalized populations focusing on Latinx communities.
Emily Kerstein, B.A. (She/her), is a doctoral student in Ferkauf's Combined School-Clinical Child Psychology PsyD program. She received her B.A. in psychology, education studies, and global health from Middlebury College in 2020. She has had training experiences in public school settings, outpatient intensive behavioral programming for youth with ADHD and aggressive behavior, and as a psychoeducational therapist for adolescents with learning disabilities with comorbid developmental or psychiatric diagnoses. Her previous research investigated stressors impacting mental health outcomes among college students. Current research interests include the efficacy and implementation of Single-Session Interventions in community and school-based settings.
Ali Rosenfeld, M.S. (She/her), is a doctoral student in Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology’s School-Clinical Child Psychology Program. She received her B.A. in Religion from Barnard College and her M.S. in Education and Special Education at Touro Graduate School of Education. Ali has training experience working with children with learning disabilities. Specifically, Ali has worked with twice exceptional children at the Quad Preparatory School. She is currently working with children who have experienced complex trauma and are in the foster care system at New York Foundling. Ali also has experience teaching Special Education in New York City schools. Her current research interests include how teacher bias impacts disproportionate discipline referrals for Black female students.
Emily Shapiro, B.A. (She/her), is a doctoral student in Ferkauf’s Combined School-Clinical Child Psychology PsyD program. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies from New York University. Emily has training experience in settings including foster care, outpatient programs specializing in social anxiety disorder and selective mutism, and psychopharmacological clinical trials. Emily also has experience in school counseling and assessment with students from grades K-12. Currently, Emily is working in a community-based clinic with children and youth who have experienced trauma. Emily's research interests include the effectiveness of trauma-based interventions for youth in schools, with a specific focus on traditionally minoritized youth.
Jillian Weinberg, M.A., Research Assistant (She/her), is a doctoral student in Ferkauf's Combined School-Clinical Child Psychology PsyD program. She received her B.A. in psychology from Hofstra University where she minored in educational studies, and received her M.A. from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Jillian has training experience in administering psychoeducational assessments, writing neuropsychology reports, and counseling students in a public school. She is currently providing various adaptations of cognitive behavioral psychotherapy to children and adolescents with anxiety and mood disorders, as well as parent management training, at NYU Child Study Center. Her research interests include the use of evidence-based interventions for children and adolescents with intersecting minority identities and mental health challenges. Particularly, Jillian is interested in the mental health struggles faced by children and adolescents of racial, gender, and/or sexuality minorities, and the trauma-informed interventions that can be used to address them in school and clinical settings.

Chiara Diona, B.S., (She/her), is a doctoral student in Ferkauf’s Combined School-Clinical Child Psychology PsyD Program. Chiara graduated from Fordham College at Lincoln Center with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She has training experience working with children with externalizing disorders, social anxiety, and selective mutism, as well as research experience assessing a teacher-consultation model and social-emotional intervention in public schools. Her research interests include the efficacy and implementation of school-based learning and social-emotional interventions.
Courtney Hunter, M.A., (She/her), is a doctoral student in Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology’s School-Clinical Child Psychology Program. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Providence College and her M.A. in Special Education at Loyola Marymount University. Courtney has experience working as a special education teacher in Sacramento, California where she worked with middle and high school students with learning disabilities and ADHD.
Deena Nerwen, B.A., (She/her), is a doctoral student in Ferkauf’s Combined School-Clinical Child Psychology PsyD program. She received her B.A. in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. Before beginning at Ferkauf, Deena was a fifth-grade teacher at a special education school for students with language-based learning disabilities. She also has training experience working with children with externalizing disorders and selective mutism. Deena currently works as a school psychology extern at Union City High School and Jose Marti STEM Academy.
